Kevin Shelly: The Best Choice in the Primary, the Strongest Candidate in November

Dear Voters of Lower Salford Township,

As your incumbent candidate, I write to you with a focus on community, integrity, and progress. Over the past six years, I’ve had the honor of serving as the first and only Democrat elected in our township’s history. This achievement is a testament to our shared commitment to making Lower Salford a place where everyone can thrive, regardless of political affiliation.

My decision to run for re-election stems from encouragement from community members, friends, and family. Having faced personal challenges, including my mother’s prolonged hospital stay, I understand the importance of community support during difficult times. Now more than ever, I feel a responsibility to be a voice for all residents of our township, advocating for responsible growth, effective governance, and accessible resources.

Why Vote for Kevin Shelly?

Community and Family Focus: With four children actively participating in our local schools, I know firsthand the challenges that families face. My experiences as a local youth coach and a regular attendee at school board meetings allow me to advocate effectively for our next generation’s educational needs and create an environment that is conducive to families of all backgrounds.

Proven Track Record of Winning: Six years ago, I received the most votes of any candidate in the general election, demonstrating my ability to connect with our community. Additionally, I have been actively involved in elections since 2007, working the polls and supporting various campaigns, including Governor Josh Shapiro’s. This experience has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to run an organized and effective campaign.

Progressive Solutions: I understand the significance of preserving the character of Lower Salford. My record shows a commitment to responsible growth that respects our rural heritage. I consistently vote against overdevelopment and advocate for thorough assessments on development proposals, ensuring that our community’s needs come first.

Smart Investment in Infrastructure and Parks: It is essential to maintain and enhance our township’s infrastructure. I prioritize sensible investments that improve our roads and public spaces while being mindful of taxpayer money. Serving on the Parks and Trails Committee, I work to ensure our parks remain accessible and sustainable for future generations just as they were for me growing up in Lower Salford.

Support for Our Seniors: Recognizing the vital role seniors (including my parents) play in our community, I’m committed to ensuring they have access to the resources they need. I’ve worked to bridge communication gaps and foster engagement, ensuring our seniors feel valued and heard in the decision-making process. I continue to make sure that the township continues working closely with our Senior Center ensuring all residents are heard.

Transparency and Accessibility: I’ve initiated the practice of broadcasting township meetings on YouTube, allowing unfiltered access to important local matters. I champion communication that invites participation from all residents, believing that an engaged citizenry is the foundation of a strong democracy.

My commitment to Lower Salford Township transcends party lines. I believe that together we can build a community focused on shared values: protecting our environment, supporting families, and ensuring responsible growth for the future. Your vote in the Democratic primary, and later in November, is crucial to continuing the positive initiatives we’ve started.

Vote for Kevin Shelly – a candidate for all of Lower Salford, who is dedicated to forging a prosperous and inclusive future for every resident. Together, we can move forward and make our community an even better place to live.

Thank you for your support,
